Terms of service

Who I am

nishant.design is run by me, Nishant Dubey, an individual product designer based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. In these terms "I" and "me" mean Nishant Dubey, and "you" means the person using the site or booking a service.

By booking a service or using this site you agree to these terms. Please read them with the refunds and cancellation policy, the shipping and delivery policy and the privacy policy, which are part of the same agreement.

What I offer

I sell services only. No physical product is sold or shipped through this site.

Right now the services are one to one mentoring sessions for designers, held live over a video call. Each session type, its length and its price are shown on the mentoring page before you pay.

I may add design services later. Each one will be described on the site, with its price and what you get, before you can pay for it.

Who can book

You need to be 18 or older to book, or have the permission of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms for you.

Please give your real name and an email address you can read. I send the confirmation, the call link and any refund notice to that address.

Prices and payment

Prices are in Indian rupees and are the full amount you pay for the session.

Payments are processed by Razorpay, a payment gateway authorised by the Reserve Bank of India. You can pay by UPI, card or net banking. Your card, UPI and bank details go to Razorpay and never reach me. I only receive the payment reference, the amount and whether it went through.

A booking is confirmed only once the payment has gone through and you have the confirmation email. While you pay, the time you chose is held for you for 15 minutes.

The session

Times on the booking page are shown in your own time zone. The confirmation email gives the date and time in your zone and in India Standard Time.

Please join on time. The session ends at the time you booked, even if it started late. I do not record sessions unless we both agree to it at the start of the call.

What mentoring is

A session gives you my honest opinion, feedback and advice, based on my own experience of designing products and hiring designers. It is not a promise of a job, an interview, a promotion or any other result. What you do with the advice is your decision.

Your work stays yours

You keep every right to the work you share with me. I use it only to prepare for and run your session. I do not share it with anyone or use it in my own work.

Please only share work you are allowed to share. If your employer or client has not cleared a piece of work, show me a version with the confidential parts removed.

How we treat each other

I will be respectful and on time, and I ask the same of you. If someone is abusive or harassing during a session, I may end it straight away, and that session is not refunded.

Content on this site

The case studies, writing, illustrations and design of this site belong to me, unless a credit says otherwise. You are welcome to read and share links to them. Please ask me before copying or reusing them.

Liability

I give every session my full care. As far as the law allows, my total liability to you for a session is limited to the amount you paid for it, and I am not liable for any indirect loss, such as lost income or opportunities.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Indian consumer protection law.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms. The version on this page when you pay is the one that applies to that booking. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If something goes wrong, please write to me first and I will do my best to put it right. If we cannot settle it, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction.
